***When wound up, this delightfully charming tin litho squirrel adorably “hippety-hops” along its merry acorn-hunting way.
Age/Period: Vintage - ca 1970s-1980s
Manufacturer/Identification/Markings/Country of Origin:
*Box is marked in both Chinese & English wording “Clock Work Squirrel - Mecanique Ecureuil Fabrique en Chine; Made in China; MS 754 “.
Size/Measurements: 3 1/4"L x 2"H
Quantity: One (1)
*Squirrel’s tin body remains in aesthetically excellent, vibrantly colorful condition (his tail is near mint). His functionality is inconsistent, due to his appearing to be slightly over-wound. He does work, but not for long stretches of time, requiring a bit of prodding along in between these intermittent hopping sessions. However, when he does “hop”, he does so smoothly and with no grating or creaking noises to indicate anything major being wrong with him internally (with the right tweaking by someone who knows how to fiddle with this type of mechanism, he should be able to be restored to normal functionality).
*Box is in excellent, completely intact condition, exhibiting no rips or tears and retaining vividly crisp and brightly colored graphic imagery.
