Item/Description: Vintage ca 1940s-1950s pair of “Old Fitzgerald” sour mash bourbon whiskey (whisky) collectible photographic-surface ink blotters (reverse sides are blank). Each blotters is identical, consisting of two (2) photos per blotter, surrounding detailed narrative text about the liquor and the company:
***First photo on each blotter depicts W. H. “Boss” McGill, 86 year old master distiller, who believes in rule-of-thumb methods, and has been in the business since early youth, posed in front of the Company’s brewery building sign that reads: “No Chemists Allowed! Nature and the old-time ‘know how’ of a Master Distiller get the job done here. Because traditional Kentucky whiskey is a natural product, we disdain synthetics, scientists and their accompanying apparatus. This is a Distillery - not a whiskey factory”
***Second photo on each blotter depicts Julian P. Van Winkle, Jr., Vice President, C. K. McClure, Secretary-Treasurer, Julian P. Van Winkle, President, three (3) Company Officials/Owners/Executives/Officers posing on the steps of the distillery offices.
