Item/Description: Vintage ca 1950s-1960s set of four (4) whimsically charming, figural wooden bottles stoppers, delightfully and artistically colorfully hand-painted to replicate international soldiers authentically attired in the uniforms of their respective countries and labeled with the names of a variety of liquors.
***Each of these adorable, folk art-esque handpainted cork-bottomed, black-rimmed military-themed stoppers not only represents a different country and branch of its military service, but they also bear the names of the following four (4) alcoholic spirits/liquors/liqueurs/cordials/aperitifs (sometimes erroneously spelled “apertifs”):
*The “Cognac” stopper is a bespectacled Frenchman/French man wearing a fashionably dapper periwinkle blue beret, bright red neck scarf, white shirt and emerald green jacket. This stopper measures 3 1/4"H.
*The “Gin” stopper is a sailor/Navy man/Naval officer attired in all white with a black criss-crossing neck tie, and it measures just over 3"H.
