The back side of the cardboard backing to the companion coat-of-arms picture in matching frame that this crest was originally acquired with, for the Surname “Ratcliff,” is marked as having been a “Good Friday” birthday gift in 1970, so the piece dates to no later than that time. Likely the pair of ancestry pictures belonged to a married couple representing each of their respective surnames.
