The brilliantly shiny and rich, eye-popping colors utilized for this delightful and timeless “objet d'art” are as follows: On his tall, lanky body he is wearing a multi-colored one-piece striped clown suit in a cheerfully colorful array of tangerine orange, lemon yellow, golden yellow, royal blue, teal blue-green, olive green, cherry red, mauve pink, lavender purple, dark chocolate brown, and snowy white. The oversized pulled glass bowtie which stands up under his neck is an assortment of yellows, oranges and white. His formal stovepipe tophat and black oversized clown shoes are jet black. A portion of his widely smiling mouth is mandarin orange, as is his nose, with the remainder of his mouth being white clown-face. His black eyes are surrounded with white as well. His partially curled/wavy hair is golden yellow. His hands are white with subtle accents of a darker color in between his fingers.

Manufacturer/Identification/Markings/Country of Origin: Though THIS particular high quality, colorful work of art figural clown is UNSIGNED/UNMARKED, we are attributing him to “Vetro Artistico Veneziano - Hand-made Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy” for the following reasons:
*He was purchased as part of a pair of clowns, THE OTHER OF WHICH still retains its original gold & red foil sticker-style label that reads: “Vetro Artistico Veneziano - Hand-made Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy.”
*He has a VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL face to, and exhibits the same type of hair, feet, hands and body styling as, that other clown which he was acquired with and which still retains its original “Vetro Artistico Veneziano - Hand-made Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy” sticker label.
*In the course of performing extensive online research of this duo of clowns and Murano Glass in general, we came across another clown that is VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL to this one which not only still had its original gold & red foil sticker-style“Vetro Artistico Veneziano - Hand-made Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy” label, but it was also situated in the exact same location on the clown’s body - the topmost button pom-pom - as where the label was very obviously MISSING FROM ON THIS CLOWN (prior to cleaning him up, we noticed paper label residue present his topmost button pom-pom).
***Of interesting further note, somewhat visible in several places, including but not limited to both of the “buttons pom-poms” on the front of his outfit, the cuff of one of his sleeves, as well as his nose, is the “Scorpion” mark which is more of an urban myth than an actual mark indigenous to any one maker or manufacturer of Murano Glass. Rather, these “Scorpion” markings usually tend to appear where the glass has been cut with shears or removed from the pontil.
Material(s)/Format: Italian art glass (Venetian/Venice - Made in Murano, Italy)
Size/Measurements: Approximately 9 1/4"H
Quantity: One (1)
Condition Summary: Exceptional vintage collectible condition. The colors remain remarkably vibrant, and there are no cracks, breaks or repairs. On the upper back side of the cuff on his right hand we could feel a couple of tiny dings/nicks in the glass, but they are very hard to see with the naked eye. There are also a handful of “rough” areas, which can be attributed to when this piece was first made and where the glass was cut/pinched. Also visible on the interior portion of the figure are a sprinkling of “air bubbles.” These “rough areas” and “air bubbles” are NOT FLAWS or defects. Rather, because Murano glass pieces are made entirely by hand, small variations of colors and shapes, as well as small bubbles inside the glass itself are always possible and not uncommon. They are, in fact, along with the aforementioned roughness from the glass being cut/pinched, some of the very signs by which you can recognize authentic Murano Glass.
