Item/Description: 1998 mint-in-package (factory sealed) Hallmark Mickey Mouse & friends “1960s Mickey’s School Days” lunchbox/lunch box tin (numbered edition with Certificate of Authenticity - COA).
***Limited Edition Number/#4E/7457 (this limited edition numbering is marked on a black strip that is bolted onto the underside of the tin)
***The charming colorful imagery contained on this Hallmark “School Days Lunch Boxes” series collector’s tin depicts these beloved Walt Disney characters (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck & Pluto) in the following scenarios:
*In one of the two larger panels, Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck are seated in a schoolroom/classroom . Donald Duck is in one of his grumpy moods, as evidenced by the glaring expression on his face as he is staring down at one of his schoolbooks, and with his head cupped in his hand.
*In the second of the two larger panels, Mickey & Donald are riding a school bus. Minnie Mouse is standing next to the “Bus Stop” sign holding her purse and lunch box, while Pluto is holding a paper lunch sack between his teeth seemingly chasing after the bus. Mickey is waving at them from the side window, and Donald has a most “Un-Donald-like” happy expression on his face as his head is poking out of the back window.
*Both side panels contain this identical imagery - all four (4) characters happily walking towards the school, with a “School” sign pointing the way. Donald is in the lead, followed by Mickey being chased after by Pluto, with dainty Minnie bringing up the rear. Three of them are holding lunch boxes. They are drawn in black against a deep sky blue background. This stunning shade of blue serves as a striking contrast to the black artwork, and is utilized on four (4) sides of the lunch box - both sides, as well as on the top and bottom.
***Enjoy this delightful tin by decoratively displaying it around your home, office or business. Or use it to store small trinkets and treasures. It serves equally well as a clever little purse for female Disney fans, or as a handy-dandy handled storage carrying container for children’s crayons, small toys, matchbox cars, marbles, etc. (just about anything one can think of, in fact). And of course, to state the obvious, why not actually use it for holding lunches or snacks (for yourself or the kids).
Information About THIS & OTHERS of These Tins: This collectible lunchbox tin container was originally sold through Hallmark stores, with not every Hallmark store being furnished with the same variety of tins, so certain tins that were available e.g. in Phoenix, Arizona might not be available in e.g. Queens, New York, which made them instant collectibles as customers vied to obtain all of the assorted tins issued in each of the various production series from the different geographical regions throughout the United States.
There were candy tins as well as tin boxes only (with no foodstuffs inside) produced in commemoration and honor of old television shows (e.g. Howdy Doody and The Munsters). There were Peanuts cartoon characters tins. There were Disney tins. There were Looney Tunes tins, etc.
We are fortunate to have many of these various collector tins in our inventory (with quite a few still containing their original candy/foodstuffs contents), so if you do not see what you are looking for on our web site, please feel free to contact us to inquire further - it just might be in stock but unlisted as yet!
