Item/Description: Vintage ca 1920s-1950s Jack & Jill-like handpainted characters “Jack Ya Mycket” OR “Jack Ga Mycket" Norwegian/Swedish/Scandinavian saying round handpainted wooden serving tray.
The saying "Jack Ya Mycket” OR “Jack Ga Mycket" on this quaint & charming shabby chic serving platter translates to either “Thank You So Much!” (if the wording is Norwegian) OR “Jack Gave A Lot”/“Jack Go Much” (if the words are Swedish). We gratefully acknowledge the generous input of a couple of different people fluent in each language who were kind enough to translate this for us!
The vibrantly colorful, handpainted decorative design imagery depicted on this delightful wooden serving plate is that of a pair of young blonde-haired, blue-eyed children whose appearances are somewhat reminiscent of the storybook “Jack and Jill” characters - a fiddle-playing/fiddle-player boy musician serenading his lovely girl sweetheart who is gayly dancing by his side, reveling in his musical repertoire. They are both clad in international costumes that appear to be of/from Norway/Norwegian/Nordic OR Sweden/Swedish/Scandinavian/Swiss origin.
Not only is this darling serving platter highly functional, but it also ”serves” (pun intended) ;~) as an exquisitely decorative OOAK (one-of-a-kind) nostalgically retro kitchen display piece!
