LC Smith & Corona Typewriters Award Lapel Pinback Vintage ca early-1900s to 1930s *****FIRST CLASS SHIPPING INCLUDED – DOMESTIC ORDERS ONLY!*****
***Shipping is always discounted for multiple purchases that can be safely packaged together! Simply contact us in advance of purchase for invoice shipping price adjustment .*** Item/Description: Antique/vintage ca. early-1900s to 1930s "Awarded by LC Smith & Corona Typewriters, Inc" enamel and copper metal lapel pinback with stunning embossed/bas relief imagery depicting a hand with "wings" sprouting from it and reaching down onto a typewriter (the symbolization of this “winged hand” equating with speed of typing ability). ***This “speed typists” award may have been presented meritoriously to a company employee in recognition and appreciation of their speedy typing “on the job”, or it may have been awarded as the prize in a contest/competition sponsored by Smith-Corona for the winner whose typing speed was the fastest - possibly a business or high school competition (we are uncertain of the precise background). Age/Period: Antique/Vintage - ca. Early-1900s to 1930s Manufacturer/Identification/Markings: *Pin face reads “Awarded by LC Smith & Corona Twrs Inc.” *Reverse side of pin is signed “L G Balfour Co” Material(s): Enamel & copper metal. Measurements: ½"W x ½"H Condition: Excellent, retaining a marvelous patina to the metal portions, and with the royal blue enameling remaining vividly colorful and unmarred. Although this does not appear to be a “flaw”, being noted for purposes of accuracy is the presence of a minuscule amount of blue coloration in a teeny space in the center design. When viewed in the magnification of the photograph, it appears to be more prevalent than it actually is, but when viewed in person, it is virtually unapparent to the naked eye (we had to use a jeweler’s loop with 10x magnification in order to see what the magnified photographic image shows). The game is fun in itself and can be enjoyed by any age group. *The ADVANCED GAME introduces elements of skill and judgment for game fanatics, ages 10 through adult. *The TOURNAMENT GAME requires familiarity with Shakespeare’s works but is designed to be provocatively enjoyable rather than a mere display of memorizing ability. *The SOLITAIRE GAME is an excellent vehicle for teaching and brushing up on Shakespearean literature (“Great for students flunking English Lit”). “...It can be played on any intellectual level; each offering enjoyment and stimulation for players based on their skill and desire for knowledge...The object of the game is to be first into the Globe Theatre at the center of the board. In general players act on the instructions printed on many of the board spaces. Those spaces that contain no play instructions serve to identify each Play as to whether it is a Comedy (smiling mask), a Tragedy (sad mask) or an Historical Play (crown). Some spaces also give brief outline sketches of the most popular of the Shakespearean Plays. All 37 Shakespearean Plays are found in synopses form in the 52-page booklet that also contains identification of all quotation cards, a chronology of English Kings plus a biography of the great bard himself. To play Shakespeare is a stimulating challenge...to give one a subtle compliment.” ISBN #: 800 0-911605-03-7 Age/Period: Vintage - July, 1975 (1970s) - per date on Instructions Booklet “3rd Printing - July 1975" (game was first produced in 1966).. Otherwise, multiple purchases without the same shipping method listed AND which require separate packaging & shipping will be shipped separatelyat no additional charge to you(to ensure the greatest possible degree of protection for each item during transit). Item/Description: Vintage 1969 “South Carolina Peach Bowl Atlanta, Ga.” game-sold stadium pennant/banner commemorating the participation of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks football team in this prestigious college bowl game (which was also only the second Peach Bowl game ever played at that time), after winning the ACC Championship. Delightful and pristinely intact graphics depict the official logo/emblem of the 1969 Peach Bowl, a Georgia Peach hovering above the football stadium in which the game was played, adjacent to which appears vivid black heat-pressed lettering (also pristine and intact). These visually striking graphics and lettering are marvelously set off against a stunningly vibrant, rich red-colored felt backdrop, making this vintage pennant a marvelous display/collector piece! Excerpted Research Information: Currently named the "Chick-fil-A Bowl," the 1969 Peach Bowl was only the second Peach Bowl game ever played. The two schools whose football teams participated in this bowl game were the University of South Carolina (Gamecocks) and West Virginia University (Mountaineers). The game was played at Grant Field in Atlanta, Georgia. Age/Period: Vintage - 1969 (1960s) Manufacturer/Identification/Markings/Country of Origin: Unknown/Unspecified Material(s)/Format: Felt Size/Measurements: 30"L (not including the tassels) x 12"H Quantity: One (1) Condition: Excellent. Aesthetically, this pennant is a stunner, displaying just beautifully with its pristinely intact graphics and lettering set off against a vibrantly-colored cherry red felt background (no fading - color appears as strong as if it were brand new). Both the black border/spine and all four (4) of the original streamers/ribbons are also in perfect condition, with two of them requiring nothing more than a bit of “flattening out/smoothing down”. Felt surface remains solid/thick, exhibiting no thinning or “balding” anywhere. Only a not-unusual modicum of age/crinkle marks are present in the felt, likely the result of the previous/original owner having stored it away as opposed to displaying it on a wall. Tip remains in perfect condition, and there are no pin/tack holes, stains or tears! If the pennant were stiffer and without the intermittent crinkling to its felt material, it would be graded “near mint to mint” based on the pristineness and intactness of everything else that makes this pennant so wonderfully desirable!. Blackjack Dealer Teddy Bear ‘Happy Bearthday. Hope You’re Dealt All Aces & Faces” Bears Etc. 1992 Hand-Sculpted Customized Birthday Figural//Paperweight *****PRIORITY MAIL SHIPPING INCLUDED – DOMESTIC ORDERS ONLY!*****
***Combined shipping is always available for multiple purchases when the “SHIPPING INCLUDED” shipping method listed is the same for each item purchased AND each item can be safely packaged together. Otherwise, multiple purchases without the same shipping method listed AND which require separate packaging & shipping will be shipped separatelyat no additional charge to you(to ensure the greatest possible degree of protection for each item during transit). Thus, should you desire a more expedient shipping method than that which is already included for any particular item, upon checkout simply select the expedited shipping option that best suits your needs (Priority Mail, Express Mail.)! Item/Description: Delightfully unique, hand-sculpted & hand-painted “Bears Etc.” customized Teddy Bear blackjack dealer figural display, with a one-of-a-kind personalized special occasion handwritten birthday message for its gift recipient: “Happy Bearthday. Hope You’re Dealt All Aces & Faces”. In addition to this sculpture serving marvelously as a mere decorative accessory for any home or office/business, it also makes for a terrific conversation piece paperweight, and the recipient of this charmer will have a handy and useful “forever reminder” of their thoughtful gift giver (even if the gift ultimately is to oneself). ;~) Sculpted in 1992, this charming “lady” bear card dealer croupier figural sculpture is sweetly adorned in a matching hot pink visor, bowtie/bow tie and upper arm band/sash set. She is seated behind a conventional blackjack table, with a deck of playing cards and a pile of chips in front of her. We custom-ordered this charming bear brand new in the early 1990s (1992 to be precise), directly from the artisans company that creates these precious figures, and we ourselves composed the unique wording/saying which the artist then hand-wrote on the front facing side of the dealer’s blackjack table. Because the wording was our own as opposed to any of the standard wording available to choose from through Bears, Etc., this already novel and unique bear is even more “one-of-a-kind”! All the special occasion gifts created by Bears, Etc. are customized and personalized so every gift has its unique bear mix, colors, names, sayings and accessories that are always different from others. So that when you own one of their bears specialty gifts, “you have the art nobody else has.” Age/Period: 1990-1992 (1990s) Whether the item should be classified as “Vintage/” vs. “Contemporary” we shall leave to the purchaser’s discretion. Technically, any item that is 20+ years or older in the collectibles market is appropriately deemed “Vintage”. Though this item now officially merits that classification, some in the collecting field don’t feel that an item is appropriately “Vintage” until it is at least 50+ years or older. Because of the “timeless” appeal of this delightful cross-collectible, the technical period dating verbiage applicable to it is essentially a non-issue, since anyone who loves bears, casino games/gaming/gambling, or occupationally/professionally is actually a blackjack dealer will absolutely cherish this highly-personalized, novelty gift.. Manufacturer/Identification/Markings/Country of Origin: Bears, Etc. is the company that created the sculpture. The underside of the sculpture bears the indecipherable signature of either the individual artist who hand-decorated, painted and wrote out the wording OR the creator of the company. The lower right back side of the sculpture bears the carved-out initials “KS” and what is either an “SC” or the numbers “90". Material(s)/Format: Ceramic (entire figural is solid and heavy/weighty) with protective felt dots on it underside to protect the sculpture as well as its display surface from damage. Size/Measurements: 4 1/4'W x 5 to 5 1/4"H x 3 ½”D Quantity: One (1) Condition: As new! Price:
