Item/Description: Vintage, older ca 1920s-1950s Chadwick-Miller Japan Walk-A-Matic toy pedometer walking/mileage exercise & activities gage, in original box with original detailed instructions.
***This convenient pocket/purse-sized pedometer is comfortably worn on one’s belt or waistband, and it measures the number of miles you walk or jog. Although described as a toy, it uses the same scientific principles as units costing much more.
***The graphic imagery depicted on one side of the colorful green, orange and white box is that of a young boy dressed in ca 1920s-1930s casual walking attire and wearing the pedometer on his waist while hiking. We are uncertain as to whether or not this pedometer was manufactured as early as the 1920s-1930s, or if that period of time applies only to the artistic imagery decorating the exterior of the box. This particular pedometer is, however, definitely older than most of the others currently available on the secondary market that date from ca 1969-1985.
